1)To open the doors of knowledge and impart quality education to the first generation students belonging especially to the socially, academically and economically disadvantaged sections of the society, staying in and around Dahisar
The major goal of our institution is to serve the students from socially, economically underprivileged sections with commitment and dedication. A majority of the students who seek admission to the college belong from SC, ST and OBC categories.
2) To inculcate ethical values like discipline, regularity, punctuality, sincerity, dedication amongst the students so as to make them responsible, respectable citizens
The institution believes that the prime objective of education is cultivating and nurturing positive qualities in students. To inculcate punctuality and discipline attendance is taken regularly and the list of defaulters is displayed on the notice board. The college also has an Anti-Ragging Committee to prohibit untoward incidences.
3) To tap the students’ potential and to enrich the development of student’s personality through co-curricular and extra-curricular activities
Many co-curricular and extra-curricular activities are conducted throughout the year by various committees. ‘Aroma: The Talent in our DNA’, is a youth festival is organized by the self-financed wing of the college every year.
The Cultural Activities Committee comprising a teacher in charge and student volunteers organizes various programs like Teachers’ Day celebrations, Annual Day etc in which students zealously participate.
The college encourages students to participate in sports activities. It has a fully-equipped gymkhana.
4) To create social awareness amongst students and foster in them a sense of social and moral responsibility
The college has an NSS unit with an enrolment of 100 volunteers. Programmes conducted by the unit such as Blood Donation Camp, Cleanliness Drives and Vigilance Drives to create social awareness among students and foster in them a social and moral responsibility.
The Nature Club of the college is quite active. It has developed a vermi-compost project and a butterfly garden in the college. It raises awareness of the students about significant environmental issues.
Poster Exhibitions, Annapurna Scheme are conducted by the Department of Adult and Lifelong Education and lectures on gender-parity organized by the Women’s Development Cell.
5) To generate opportunities for self-employment by providing course on vocational education
The college also conducts an Add-on Course like CCC and Tally with GST so as to develop employability of the students. The computer courses are offered by SESCOM (Shailendra Education Society’s Computer Centre) which is attached to the college.
Similarly the college also runs an evening M.Com. Course to take the students to the next level.
6) To prepare them to brave the challenges of the competitive world
The college takes the onus for preparing the students to face today’s cut-throat competition. The college also conducts additional lectures for Maharashtra Public Service Commission and other exams. The College is in tie-up with the Bombay Stock Exchange for enhancing the skills required by future entrants into the Financial Sector.
