A One day workshop on 7th Pay commission and accounts & audit on 26th February, 2019 A One day workshop on 7th Pay commission and accounts & audit was organized on 26th February, 2019 in the Prin. D.G. Samant Hall from 9 a.m. onwards. The workshop received an overwhelming response from the non teaching staff of the colleges affiliated to University of Mumbai around 175 participants from Mumbai, Thane, Kalyan, Palghar, Dahanu, Ratnagiri, Kholhapur and majority of Konkan region participated in the workshop. Dr. Rohidas Kale, Joint Director, Higher Education, Mumbai Region was invited as the chief Guest of this workshop. Both the session were conducted by Shri Parag Patil the Accounts Officer Higher Education Mumbai region, Mumbai wherein he discussed about Accounts & Audit. In the first session he explained the intricacies of “how to maintain service Book, Leave register, etc.”, whereas in the second session he discussed in details about implementation of 7th Pay Commission. Vote of thanks was delivered by Office Superintendent Shri. Bhikaji Khetle. The participants were satisfied with the proceeding and demanded more such workshop in the future. |

A Two day workshop on ‘Innovative Teaching Methods” on 21st & 22nd January, 2019 A Two day workshop on ‘Innovative Teaching Methods” was organized on 21st & 22nd January, 2019, under the aegis of Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of the college. The main objective of the workshop was to enlighten the teaching fraternity about the changing trends of online teaching learning methodology and latest guidelines of UGC regarding the same. There were two resource persons on the forst day viz, Asst. Prof. Prabhakar Musam, Vivek College, Goregaon and Mr. Javed Sheikh (Corporate Trainer, SESCOM).Mr. Musam covered topics like Google classroom, Google forms and Blogging while Mr. Sheikh dealt with topics of Advanced excel and PPT with Animation. Asst. Prof. Ms. Sandhya Thakkar from SIA College, Dombivali was the resource person for the second day. She gave us hands on training in “Advanced Methods in Education’ comprising of subtopics like web presence, word press, E-learning, Digital classroom, MOOCs, Moodle, LMS, etc. This session was exclusively on practical basis and the participants were happy that at the end of this session. |

National Conference on “Electronic Commerce and Changing Market Scenario” on 27th January 2017 Department of Commerce had organized One Day Multi-Disciplinary National Conference on “Electronic Commerce and Changing Market Scenario” on 27th January 2017 in Pri. D.G. Smant Hall. The National Conference was inaugurated at 10 a.m. Dr. Sandip K. Bhatt, Professor & Head, P. G. Department of Business Studies, Sardar Patel University, Vallabh Vidyanagar, Anand, Gujarat was the Chief Guest. Dr. Sebastian Irudaya Rajan, Professor, Centre for Development Studies, Thiruvanathapuram, Kerala was Guest of Honour and Key note speaker. The inaugural function was attended by Resource Persons for Technical Sessions, Academicians, Research Scholars, Staff and Students, office bearer of the Management and other members of the Management and some of the eminent Principals of other colleges. There were three Technical Sessions for research paper presentation. One day Conference was started at 10.00 a.m. and ended at 4.30 p.m. Fifty three researchers presented their Research Paper in the conference. 135 Academicians, Research Scholars and Students from University of Mumbai and from other states had participated in the National Conference. |

International conference on ‘The Rise of New Russia’ on 29th and 30th January, 2016 The college had jointly organized its first ever international conference on ‘The Rise of New Russia’ with the Centre for Central Eurasian Studies and the Department of Civics and Politics, University of Mumbai on 29th and 30th January, 2016. It was held at the Pherozeshah Mehta Bhavan, Kalina Campus. The conference was inaugurated by Consul General Ilia Savelev, Vice Consul Vladimir Dementiev, Trade representative Mr.SergeyLunev, scholars from Russia, Ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar, Mr. Sudheendra Kulkarni Director of Observer Research Foundation. The conference was graced by Hon.President of SES Mr. S.K.Sawant, Hon. Chairman Mr. J.R.Mejari, Hon. Vice Chairman Mr. G.S.Pandloskar, Hon. Secretary Mr. R.V.Prabhu and Hon Treasurer Mr. R.G.Jagdale. The inaugural address was given by Ambassador Ashok Sajjanhar. The keynote address was delivered by eminent Professor Sergey Markedonov. Mementoes were given to the dignitaries at the hands of Hon. President of Shailendra Education Society Mr. S.K.Sawant. He also gave a speech highlighting the foundation of Shailendra Education Society and its activities. |
