Our college has enrolled with an extension activity under the Department of Life Long Learning Extension (DLLE). The students participating in the Extension work under this department are also entitled to the benefit of ten grace marks under the ordinance 229-A after the completion of 120 hours of work under various extension work projects.
2023-24 Activities The Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension [DLLE] (known earlier as Department of Adult and Continuing Education and Extension) established on October 12, in the Year 1978 and has been recognized as a statutory Department of the University of Mumbai since 1994 to promote a meaningful and sustained rapport between the Universities and the community. The DLLE seeks to facilitate the sensitization of students to socio-cultural realities. Degree College Students take up extension work projects related to social issues, for which they are awarded 10 additional marks in their final examinations on successful completion of 120/240 hours of work, and the submission of the project report in time. The motto of the department was to develop a sense of social responsibility and prepare students for greater social commitments. To enhance employability skills as personality development, team building, presentation skills, writing abilities, time management skills, organizing skills, entrepreneurship and leadership skills of the students. 2022-23 Activities A Poster Competition was organised on 08th March 2023, at D.G.Samant Hall on the occasion of Women’s Day. Students had presented their ideas related to various career option through posters. The competition was judged by Dr.Sulbha Ma,am the Director of St. Francis College, and also the field co-ordinator of DLLE Department. Students secured First, Second and Third prizes. |

A Social Visit organized on 04th March 2023 A Social Visit was organized on 04th March 2023 at Shanti Dhaan Aashram, Borivali (W). 58 students visited the NGO; an organization for the disabled and differently abled children. This Institution is run by the Missionaries of Charity and inaugurated by Mother Theresa in 1981.There are approximately 200 Boys and 30 Caretakers. The head of the organization, spoke about the plight of the children and the function of the Ashram. The children are taught to make candles and other handicrafts. Students donated Medicine, Food grains, Clothes, Toys etc. It was a happy event filled with satisfaction that the team of students and teachers had been able to spread some smiles among special children. |

UDDAN FESTIVAL festival was organized on 21st January 2023 UDDAN FESTIVAL – “The flight of Extension” This year the festival was organized on 21st January 2023 from 9.00 am to 2.00 pm at Reena Mehta College Bhayandar (W). The objective of the festival is to create awareness about the extension work done by the University of Mumbai through affiliated colleges in the community. Second Term Training Programme was organized by DLLE Department on 30th November 2022 Second Term Training Programme was organized by DLLE Department on 30th November 2022 at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar College Vasai (W) from 10.00 am to 2.00 pm. The Extension work teacher Asst.Prof. Anita Sharma and 2 Student Manager Omkar Mane and Vaishnavi Sheety of Shailendra Degree College attended the session. The Training session was headed by Dr. Kunal Jadhav Sir, he focuses on the submission of reports and annexure for the second term extensions activities. At the same time he also focuses on the festival conducted by University of Mumbai under the Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension (DLLE) titled "UDAAN – the flight of Extension.” |

“Session on Guidance for Career in Company Secretary” on September 28, 2022. “Session on Guidance for Career in Company Secretary” on September 28, 2022. The same was stated by the speaker, Ms. Vimala Jogadia, who works as an Executive Assistant with The Institute of Company Secretaries of India's Western India Regional Council (WIRC of ICSI). The speaker instructed the students on the company secretary course and how to pursue it, as well as how to investigate job options in the field. During this time, students were also taught various strategies for passing the entrance exam. The session had 245 participants in presence. |

The Department of Life Long Learning and Extension started its activities in the month of January and Ms. Shivani Tiwari {T.Y.B.B.I.}, Ms. Sejal Thakur {S.Y.B.M.S.}, Mr. Saurav Suvarna{S.Y.B.Sc. Lecture on Career in Finance The department of Life Long Learning and Extension had conducted a Guest Lecture on “Career Opportunities in Finance and Entrepreneurship Skills”. The lecture was conducted by Time Management Institute in Room no. 401 from 8.30 to 10 am on 27th July, 2018. Lecture was addressed by Mr. Mohit Kelkar, Manager, Corporate Relations, TIME Institute and by Mr. Dheeraj Rajpurohit, TIME Institute. Around 50 students attended the session. The speakers provided detailed information about the various career options available in finance field after graduation. The speakers also highlighted the importance of developing entrepreneurship skills. The faculty cleared the doubt raised by the students. The session was very informative and will help the students to excel in their career planning. |

Resume Building-22nd September, 2017 A lecture on “Resume building” was organized on 22nd September, 2017 by DLLE in room no 201 at 9.00 am. TYBBI AND TYBMS students attended the session. Ms. Payel Bose Mukharjee, Deputy Manager, TIME Institute was the speaker for the same. An overview of how to make a good resume was initiated to the students. Also the strengths and weaknesses of the students were discussed and inputs were given by the speaker how to work on the same. A proforma was shown to the students as to make once resume attractive and to the point. Overall the students had a good session of interaction and knowledge towards improving their Curriculum Vitae and framing their strength and weaknesses. |

Lecture on “Communication Skill”-September, 2017 The department of Life Long Learning and Extension had conducted a Guest Lecture on “Communication Skill”. The lecture was conducted by Time Management Institute in Room no 203 from 10.30 to 11.45 am. The lecture was addressed by Mr Amol Shedge. More than hundred students attended the session. The speaker provided insights to students regarding how to be a good speaker, how to improve one’s confidence level, how to deal with interviews, how to crack entrance exams, how to face professional people etc. The faculty also cleared the doubt raised by the students. It was an interactive session where in the students came to know about the do’s and don’ts of an good communicator. The session was very informative and it will help the students to excel in their communication more effectively. |

Android App Course-13th September, 2017 A lecture on “Android App Course” was organized by DLLE in Room no 204 at 11.00 am on 13th September, 2017. It was conducted by Lakshya Institute. The speaker for the same was Mr. Rohan Surve, Electrical Engineer. The lecture gave students the inputs regarding the design and development of Android app and its usage. It was an interactive and innovative session for the students as they learned many new things out of it. Overall it was very informative session for the students. St. Francis Institute of Management & Research (Borivali) had organized a lecture for DLLE students on “Consumer rights awareness” and “How to be a smart investor” on 21st August, 2017. Consumer rights awareness lecture gave information regarding the rights of consumers and the issues related with it and how to deal with them. DLLE had organized a lecture on “Career in Photography” on 11th September, 2017 in Room no 204 at 11.00 am. Mr Amit ThakurDesai was the speaker for the same. He is associated with SHARI, an Institute for photography. He gave inputs to students regarding the field of photography, career in photography, about the in depth knowledge of photography filed and the growing future prospects in this area etc. |

AIDS Awareness Rally and Street Play Jointly with RSP DLLE department of Shailendra Degree College and Rashtra Swasthya Prabodhini (RSP) Centre had jointly organized “AIDS Awareness Rally”.
Date : 3rd December, 2016 More than 150 Students Participated in the rally along with other Teachers and RSP members. One Street play was enacted by DLLE Students near Dahisar Railway station on AIDS Awareness. RSP Secretary Mr. Nelawade helped to organize the above rally. |

AIDS Campaigning and street play on 1st December- World’s AIDS Day Aids Awareness Campaigning was successfully done by DLLE Students on 1st December, 2016 “World’s AIDS Day” in all classes of our college. Students spoke about misconceptions, facts, reasons and measures to eradicate AIDS from society. Students used Posters, banners and informative pamphlets for creating awareness. Also one street play on ‘AIDS Awareness” was conducted by DLLE students in front of Dahisar East Post Office as well Ration Card office on the same day. Spectators appreciated Student’s performance very well. |

Poster exhibition on Thursday 6th October,2016 DLLE had organised poster exhibition on Thursday 6th October,2016. 154 posters made by DLLE students were the part of exhibition.Different vibrant topics were covered by this exhibition under PEC theme, as like 'Swachha Bharat', 'Sexual Harassment', 'Global Warming', 'Child Labour', 'Save Girl' and many more.Dr. Sulbha Raorane madam, External Field Cordinator from St. Francis College was invited for First term training cum a talk for DLLE students. Dr. Raorane madam, along with Principal sir, Dr. V. M. Ingavale, and Prof. Dr. Bhavna Trivedi madam had selected some of the posters as prize winning posters. Dr. Raorane madam and our Respected Principal sir addressed our students regarding importance of different ways to overcome these social issues. DEPARTMENT OF LIFE LONG LEARNING & EXTENSION (DLLE) 2016 Department of Lifelong Learning and Extension activity of our college has successfully enrolled 154 students for the year 2016-17.We have registered our students for ‘Population Education Club’ (PEC) Program. Under this PEC program we have organised various activities till the month of August: 1. Lecture on Relationship Management in association with Women’s Development Cell 2. 2 days PAN card camp was organised by DLLE for all the college students. For the same more than 250students enrolled for registration of PAN. Camp was organised and managed by different groups under DLLE and it was a grand success. 3. ‘Friendship Day’ celebration has been extensively and exclusively done by groups of DLLE students with cleaner staff, traffic police and various workers of lower income group from college and of nearby societies. Students had fun and they raised their hands without discrimination towards different groups of societies. |

Department of Life Long Learning & Extension 2014-15 DLLE is a popular extension activity amongst the college students. It requires a student volunteer to undertake a project of 120 hours and is entitled to 10 grace marks in the final semester.
