The Cultural Committee of Shailendra Degree College is committed for holistic development of students, by creating an environment where talents are nurtured every year. The committee conducted various programmes throughout the year and brings out the vibrant colours of extracurricular activities.Prize Distribution Function motivates students to reach to the pinnacle. Intercollegiate participation initiate for best possible competition, whereas celebration of different days highlights the golden days of college life. Annual Day allows students to showcase their nurtured talents. Funfair has flavored food with skills which ultimately inculcate positive attitude towards self employment.

ANNUAL DAY FUNCTION on 30th January, 2024 The Cultural Committee of Shailendra Degree College conducted an Annual Day 2023-24 on 30th January, 2024 at Prin.D.G.Samant Hall , Shailendra Education Society’s Arts, Commerce & Science College from 9 am to 2.30 pm. The theme of this year‘s Annual Day 22-23 was Indian Culture and students depicted Indian culture through group dances and Fashion shows. Prin. Dr. Swati Pitale has inaugurated the function by lighting of the lamp. To judge this competition the college invited Ms. Priya Raju Poojary who runs a dance studio and worked as a choreographer in Dance Maharashtra Dance Zee Marathi, Dance India Dance Zee TV &Dum Duma Dum Sayadri TV. GARBA FUNCTION on 23rd Oct.2023 The Cultural Committee of Shailendra Degree College organized a ‘Garba Function’ for students on Monday,23rd Oct.2023 to celebrate the Navratri Festival. The function was conducted on Shailendra Ground from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m.. for all students of aided and unaided sections. A total of 441 students were present for the same. Students dressed up in colourful traditional attires and played Garba with full enthusiasm on various Garba & orchestra tunes. The best dancers and best costume male and female participants were announced and winners were Aided section: 1. Best Dancer- Sampada Bhople – TYBCOM (Female category ) & Dharmik Hande -FYBA (Male Category ) 2. Best Costume - Sneha Dushange and Mansi Khune -FYBA (Female Category) & Purvit Mehta TYBCOM (Male category ) Self Finance Section 1. Best Dancer- Tamana Singh – TYBAF (Female category ) & Samarth Prabhu (TYBMS) & Karan Chudasama -FYBSC(IT) (Male Category ) 2. Best Costume – Jhalak Vishwakarma -FYBAF (Female Category) & Virandra Barot TYBMS (Male category ) Winners were felicitated by Dr. Kanchan Dutt. TALENT HUNT FRESHER’S PARTY on 22nd July 2023 The Cultural Committee of Shailendra Degree College organized a “ Talent Hunt Fresher’s Party” on 22nd July 2023 in Prin. D.G.Samant hall for all first-year students of aided & unaided section from 9 am to 1 pm. A total of 170 students were present for the same. Students had shown their talent through various rounds of talent hunt like dancing, singing, ramp walking, and Judges round. Two students were selected as Mr. and Miss Fresher separately from the aided and unaided sections. Winners were : AIDED SECTION Miss Fresher: Ms.Disha Pawar - FYBA Mr. Fresher: Mr.Sushant Moolya –FYBA UNAIDED SECTION: Miss Fresher: Ms. Shruti Bolye – FYBAF Mr. Fresher: Mr.Harshit Tiwari –FYBSC(IT) Judges felicitated these winners with sashes, crowns, certificates & gifts. Annual Cultural Competitions on 28th January, 2020 AAnnual Cultural Competitions like duet dance, group dance and fashion show for the year 2019-20 was conducted on 28th January, 2020 in the Prin.D.G.Samant Hall from 8.30 am to 4 pm in two shifts. Students also presented a Marathi Drama on social issues. First shift was for Self Finance students and second shift for Aided students. Annual Prize Distribution Function 2019-20 celebrated on 24th Dec., 2019 Annual Prize Distribution for the year 2018-19 was conducted on 24th December, 2019 in the A.V. Room. Students who have excelled in curricular and co-curricular activities were felicitated by Prin. Dr. Swati Pitale. Every year “Best Students of the Year award” is given to a student who have excelled in curricular, co-curricular and extracurricular activities and this year award was given to Mr. Santosh Ghume of T.Y.B.A. from aided section and Mr. Nimmakayal Chandrabalraj Kurmaiah Shantamma of T.Y.B.M.S. from Self Finance section. Annual Fun Fair 2019-20 celebrated on 23rd Dec., 2019 Annual Fun Fair for the academic year 2019-20 was held on 23rd December, 2019 in the college premises from 7.00 am to 4.00 pm. Stalls were put to combine fun with lots of food and games. Total 21 stalls of foods, games and handicrafts items were put up by various student groups. Students had shown their entrepreneurship, marketing and organisational skills. Students had displayed their own creation and innovations and college provided an opportunity to showcase their talent as well as idea for their start up businesses.	Photo Gallery

Annual Prize Distribution Function 2017-18 celebrated on 21st Dec., 2018 Annual Prize Distribution Function 2017-18 was celebrated on 21st Dec. , 2018 in A.v.Room. A Fresher's Party - Talent Hunt 2018-19 A Fresher's Party - Talent Hunt 2018-19 was conducted on 10th August , 2018 for first year students of aided and self finance courses in Prin. D.G. Samant Hall. Students had exhibited their talents in the form of dance , singing , ramp walking , mono acting and mimicry. Students were finally selected by Judges for final round on the basis of overall performances and active involvement during the function. Annual Prize Distribution Function 2015-16 Annual Prize Distribution Function 2015-16 was held on 23rd Sept 2016 in Principal D.G.Samant Hall at 10:00 AM. Students who have excelled in curricular and co-curricular activities were felicitated by Chief guest Prof. Sanjay Deshpande, Director centre for central Eurasian studies, University of Mumbai. CULTURAL ACTIVITY REPORT 2015-16 First meeting of cultural committee was conducted in the month of June and various activities of the year 2015-16 were planned out. Students elected Mr.Ajay Gopale of TYBCOM as a Cultural Secretary for college activities and Mr. Omkar Ghogale of TYBMS for intercollegiate activities. To conduct various programmes in the college efficiently various sub committees like decoration committee, backstage committee, writing and poster making committee, dance committee, refreshment committee, singing committee etc. were formed. Throughout the year students participated in various intercollegiate competitions and won prizes. An Annual Prize Distribution ceremony was conducted by the committee on 20th October 2015 in Principal D.G.Samant Hall, for the year 2014.15. The Chief Guest Shree Fattehsingh Patil (I.P.S.) Additional Commissioner, North Region, Mumbai felicitated and encouraged students during the ceremony. Apart from students, teachers and Non-teaching staff were also awarded for being outstanding in sports and reading habits. Ms. Jahanvi More of SYBA won First prize in Marathi essay writing competition held by Bhavans College. Mr. Dipesh Patil of SYBMS won consolation prize in Elyzium, intercollege competition conducted by Amlani College. Ms. Anju Dake of FYBA won consolation Prize in book review competition conducted by J.M.Patel college of commerece. Colour days were celebrated 1st to 10th Dec. and students contributed whole heartedly to make it a big success. A fun fair was organized by students on 10thDec.2015 at college premises. Students presented their marketing, advertising, and cooking skills with lots of innovations. Annual competitions were held on 11th Dec. 2015. CULTURAL ACTIVITY REPORT 2014-15 The Cultural Committee of the Shailendra Degree College was formed to bring a light on hidden talent of students. The committee is constantly working to provide a platform for all round development of student’s personality through various co-curricular activities year by year. To felicitate achievers in various fields for the year 2013-14, an Annual Prize Distribution ceremony was conducted by the committee on 14th September, 2014 in the college premises. The Chief Guest was Dr. R.M.Kumar, Chairman, Aruna Manaharlal Shah Institute of Research and Management, Ghatkopar (West) Mumbai. Apart from students, teachers and Non-teaching staff were also awarded for being outstanding in sports and reading habits. Throughout the year students participated in various intercollegiate competitions and won several prizes. Following are the details of the different competitions: 1. Mr. Pravin Rathwal of S.Y.B.A. won second prize in elocution competition called “Swar Sanwad” organized by GESSB Vartak College Borivali (West), Mumbai. 2. Ms. Janhavi More of S.Y.B.A. won second prize in Marathi Essay writing competition held by Bhavans College, Andheri (West), Mumbai. 3. Mr.Bhagwan Parab of S.Y.B.A. won third prize in Marathi Essay writing competition held by Bhavans College, Andheri (West), Mumbai. 4. Ms. Anagha Masurkar of S.Y.B.M.S. won third prize in solo dance competition conducted by B.L.Amlani College of Commerce and Economics, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai. 5. Mr. Shailendra Mishra of S.Y.B.A. won third prize in ‘Just a Minute’ competition conducted by B.L.Amlani College of Commerce and Economics, Vile Parle (West), Mumbai. Colour days were celebrated in the month of December and students contributed whole heartedly to make it a big success. Annual Day 2014 was celebrated on 20th December, 2014, with lots of grandeur and positive energy. This time the Annual Day was conducted on the College ground and it was a grand success. Special invitees were the Honourable Management members and our ex-students. The Annual Day was marked by solo dances, amazing group dances, fashion shows, skit and a spectacular drama. Like every year this year also our ex-students participated enthusiastically and gave some stunning performances. Annual competitions were held on 23rd December, 2014. Various competitions like Mehendi, Khana Khazana, Clik A Pic, Solo Singing, Rangoli, Face painting, Junkyard War, Ad Mad Show and Mono Acting were conducted in the college premises. A fun fair was organized by students on 24thDecember, 2014, in the college premises. Students presented their marketing, advertising, and culinary skills with lots of innovations and finesse.
