Gymkhana & Sports Back
The college is of the considered view that sports have a prime role in inculcating qualities of hardwork and discipline in students. By playing various sports we can shape the body as well as the minds of our students. It’s important to develop and nurture a health culture.
We have a long standing tradition of creating sportsmen of national and state level in various sports. The college has a state of the art Gymkhana facility and a ground. It is our aim to encourage students to participate in the games and sports, and at enhancing their sports and athletic skills.
It is well-equipped with facilities in Cricket, Chess, Carom, Table tennis. Coaching is also provided to the students in Malakhamb, Judo-Karate, Boxing, Gymnastics, Kho-Kho, Volleyball, Kabbadi. It conducts various tournaments within the College and sends our meritorious students to represent the college regularly in Cricket, Kho-Kho, Kabaddi and other inter-collegiate competitions. Incentives are given to students who wish to participate in the inter-collegiate competitions.

The Gymkhana committee of our college has a history and we are proud to have produced some of the finest sportsmen in various sports. In fact we have given a major thrust to various outdoor and indoor sports activities in keeping the maximum interest of our students. We at Shailendra believe that not only are sports a form of entertainment but also a mechanism for developing a sporty physique along with a healthy mind, discipline and leadership qualities in the personality of our students. We are fortunate enough that our college has a huge playground with lots of infrastructure and sports equipment facilities and a state of the art Gymnasium which is rare in Mumbai.
