Drama Club Back

The college has a long standing sustained drama culture with regular participation in inter-collegiate and state level competitions. Professional as well as ex-students are involved in setting up of one act plays and honing the acting skills of the students. The Drama Club has won laurels for the college and paved way for the rise of budding artists. The vibrant drama club of the college provides a platform for the acting skills of the students and prepares them for skits and one act plays.

DRAMA CLUB - 2017-2018

Drama club is an opportunity for students to explore characters, situations, develop their imagination and learn performance skills. In academic year 2017-2018 students from all courses including post graduation participated in 50th Youth festival of Mumbai University at Patuck Gala College on 19th & 20th August 2017.

“Aaik Tole Padtayet” (one act play), Marude Na Yaar Aaplayla Kya Karache Aahe” (Marathi Skit), “Gali Mar Bhejeme” (Hindi Skit) and mime focusing on section 377 and their upliftment were the social issues on which Director Mr. Sudhir Ambole prepared the students for Youth festival.

Further clearing various eligibility rounds of Indian National Theatre and competition from various colleges ,the act “The Lady or The Tiger” written by Ms Manali Kale and Directed by Mr. Partik Mulye reached the final round of which even Maharashtra Times took a note on 4th & 5th October 2017.

Hindi and Marathi skit which was appreciated by the audience at the Youth festival was again performed in Shailendra Mohatsav. In addition to it drama club even participated in fashion show highlighting the theme of Greek God and Goddess on 22nd December 2017 in Shailendra Mohatsav 2017.

"Bajya" Act Play 2016

The Drama club of our college performed Marathi one ac play ‘Bajya’ in the semi-final of INT. It was directed by Mr. Sudhir Ambole and had ten musicians playing live music.

The student’s bagged first prize for skit titled ‘Shodh Astitvacha’ in the inter - collegiate festival held at Amlani College. 30 students from F.Y. & S.Y. B.A. had participated in the Mohalla Committee function Ek Sham Ekta ke Naam on 18th November, 2014 at Terapanthi Hall Kandivali East, on skit titled “Ek Ajnabi Laash”, in the presence of Chief Guest Julio Rebello, former Commissioner of Police.
The play ‘Galavar Khali’ written by our ex-student Mr. Yatin Sawant and directed by Mr. Kamlakar Lokhande was performed during the Shailendra Mahotsav. The play was also performed at ‘Kshanjete’ state level drama competition at Swami Vivekanand College, Chembur.
