Commerce Club of our college had organized a session on “Career in CS (Company Secretary)” by ICSI on 13th February, 2020 for all students of FY/SY/TY BBI & BMS. The speaker was Ms. Vimla Jogadia.

She explained students about the examination pattern, its admission procedure and other related terms and conditions for enrolling in CS (Company Secretary) as a career. It was as interactive and informative session for the students.

Session on Career Guidance on 11th February, 2020

Career Guidance session on different careers and its related competitive exams was organised by Commerce Club for all students of FY/SY/TY BBI & BMS on 11th February, 2020. The speakers were Mr. Rakesh Jain (Career Guidance Expert) from CARE (Career Development Centre) and Mr Abhishek Sharma (Assistant, CARE). They guided the students regarding various career options available and how to crack their respective entrance exams. Students gave a positive feedback about this session. In all 157 students attended the session

Guest lecture on “Career in Management after graduation” on 31st January, 2020

Commerce Club of our college had organised a guest lecture on “Career in Management after graduation” by Career Launcher on 31st January, 2020. The speakers for the same were Mr. Amol Shedge (Branch Head, Career Launcher), & Mr Yogendra Chawan (Marketing Manager, Career Launcher). Students of FYBBI, SYBBI, FYBMS, SYBMS attended the session.

The session comprised of practical aspects of management filed and career opportunities in management field. They also guided the students on MBA Entrance exam. They delivered both theory as well as practical information on the said topics. It was an interactive session. Students gave a very well response for the said event. In all 115 students attended the session

E-summit’20 on 01st and 02nd February, 2020

E-summit’20 organized by IIT, Bombay was attended by 37 students and two faculty members of our college for two days on 01st and 02nd February, 2020. It comprised of various events, competitions, seminars & workshops. Its main motto was to inculcate entrepreneurship skills in students. Students whole-heartedly participated in all the events. It was an amazing experience for the students and as well as for the faculties.

"A SESSION ON JOB SEARCH & NISM EXAMS” on 23rd January, 2020.

Commerce Club had arranged a session on Job search for TYBBI /TYBMS/ TYBsc(IT) students. They were guided regarding how to search jobs using a digital application named “buycano”. In this application students get to know the type of questions that comes in competitive exams and also they can appear for mock test for different competitive exams via this app. It’s an informative app which gives all details regarding banking and other competitive exams to the students.
Students were also guided about NISM exams, its procedure and examination pattern.
The session was conducted in Room no 208 at 8.30 am by Mr Christopher Mathews (Founder of buycano) and by Mr Bharat Muni (Director of buycano).
It was an highly informative session for the students.

A session on “Financial Awareness” on 27th September, 2019.

Commerce Club of our college had organised a session on “Financial Awareness” on 27th September, 2019. The speaker for the same was Mr. Aadesh shukla (FINOMENAL TECHSERVE LLP). Students of TYBBI, FYBBI & FYBMS attended the session.
The session comprised of spreading awareness among students on various financial parameters. . They also guided the students on investment patters. They delivered both theory as well as practical information on the said topics. It was an interactive session. Students gave a very well response for the said event. In all 56 students attended the session.

Internship of Big Bazaar Live Project rom 10th August, 2019 to 15th August, 2019

17 (Seventeen) students of our college participated in internship of Big Bazaar Live Project during their Big Days Sale period from 10th August, 2019 to 15th August, 2019. The total working hours comprised of 48 hours training in 06 days which gave them practical exposure to various services provided by big bazaar on daily basis. Students learned about the various schemes, products sold and their customer service strategy.
Students got hands on training which built their confidence and also improved their communication skill. Over all it was a learning experience for the students.

A session on “MBA & Banking Entrance Exam Guidance” was organised by Commerce club on 17th September, 2019 in Room No. 208 from 8.30 to 9.00 am for TYBBI students. The speaker was Mr. Prasad Kashelkar , Marketing Manager, CPLC. He guided the students regarding the entrance exam pattern, syllabus and schedule and also about the scheme offered by their institute for minority students enrolling in above said MBA course. 32 students had attended the session.

Guest lecture on “Career in Finance” on 30th August, 2019

Commerce Club of our college had organised a guest lecture on “Career in Finance” on 30th August, 2019. The speakers for the same were Mr. Animesh Choudhary (Academic Manger, IMS Digital Pro School), & Mr Dilip Patiyan (Assistant Manager, IMS Digital Pro School). Students of TYBBI, SYBBI, SYBMS, TYBMS, and SYBcom attended the session. The session comprised of practical aspects of finance and career opportunities in finance field. They also guided the students on MBA Entrance exam. They delivered both theory as well as practical information on the said topics. It was an interactive session. Students gave a very well response for the said event. In all 57 students attended the session.

Session on Tally/ Adv. Tally/ Excel/ Adv Excel on 09th July, 2019

A orientation session on Tally/ Adv. Tally/ Excel/ Adv Excel was organised by Commerce Club for First year students of all streams on 09th July, 2019. The speaker was Mr. Kishor Parmar (Director) from ICA (Institute of Computer Accountants). He guided the students on the above courses and their relevance in career opportunities. Students gave a positive feedback about this session. In all 134 students attended the session. It will be followed by a three day workshop at their Borivali branch where students will be guided thoroughly about these courses and their relevance in today’s time.

Guest lecture on Entrepreneurship skills in collaboration with IIT, Bombay named as IIT Envoyage Workshop on 16th January, 2019

Commerce club had organised a guest lecture on Entrepreneurship skills in collaboration with IIT, Bombay named as IIT Envoyage Workshop on 16th January, 2019 in AV Room.

Mr Nikhil Jain, a Researcher and Entrepreneur and also a PhD scholar from IIT Bombay Monash Research Academy was the speaker for the session. Ninety- Five (95) students from all streams attended the session.

The speaker briefed the students about how to start one’s own business, the skills required for becoming an Entrepreneur and he also gave insights about various career options.

The students in the end interacted with the speaker and cleared their doubts and selected ten (10) students were given free pass for visiting IIT, Bombay E-summit event which was on 19th and 20th January, 2019.

PAN Card Camp on 01st & 02nd February, 2019

Commerce club had organised PAN Card Camp in College premises on 01st & 02nd February, 2019 in collaboration with TJSB Bank and Karvy Consultancy Ltd. In all 70 (Seventy) students applied for the same. The Pan card will be delivered at the address of the students mentioned in their application forms. A nominal amount of Rs 107/- was charged for the making of Pan Card. It was a well appreciated activity by the students. The motto behind this activity was to encourage more and more students to have their own PAN card as identity proof.

E-summit’19 organized by IIT on 19th and 20th January, 2019

E-summit’19 organized by IIT, Bombay was attended by 32 students and two faculty members of our college for two days on 19th and 20th January, 2019. It comprised of various events, competitions, seminars & workshops. Its main motto was to inculcate entrepreneurship skills in students. Students whole-heartedly participated in all the events. It was an amazing experience for the students and as well as for the faculties.

Bank Visit for FYBBI and SYBBI students on 05th January 2019

Bank Visit was organised by Commerce Club for FYBBI and SYBBI students to TJSB Bank (Thane Janata Sahakari Bank) on 05th January 2019. Students were provided with information related to working of the bank, different types of accounts and various facilities provided by them. Also they covered up topics like tricks for rectifying fake currency notes, cheque and ATM cards and ended up with career guidance and exams related to banks.

Ms. Sampada Sawant (Sr. Manager) guided students regarding Traditional banking and Mr. Kedar Rege (Jr. Manager) guided students regarding Digital banking. In all 51 students attended the same.

Workshop on GST on 29th November and 05th December, 2018

Two Days workshop on GST was arranged by Commerce Club on 29th November and 05th December, 2018 for SY and TY students of B.Com, BBI & BMS. CA Harsh Patel (Founder of Water & Shark Firm) was the resource person for the workshop.

The aim of this workshop was to enhance student’s knowledge on the terms and concepts related to GST. Students were trained on the topics like GST Registration, GST Filing and its procedure. Practical online training was given for the same

WORKSHOP ON “ENTREPRENEURSHIP AND BUSINESS SKILLS” on 05th October, 2018

Commerce club and IQAC had organised one day workshop on “Entrepreneurship and Business Skills” in collaboration with E-cell of IIT- Bombay on 05th October, 2018 in Prin. D. G. Samant Hall from 1.00 pm to 6.00 pm. In all 80 students participated in this workshop from all streams.

Mr. Saurabh Jambure and Mr. Ali Husen were the speakers for the workshop. Students were oriented about start-ups and the intricacies related to Entrepreneurship, Scripting B-Model, Marketing and Finance etc.

The highlight of the workshop was that the students were trained on financial term, pricing strategies, importance of branding and how to start up a venture. Also case study training, hands on experience with business model and also how to make one’s own business model were taught to the students.

It was a highly interactive and motivational session for the students as they learned a lot from this workshop.

Workshop on Soft Skills & Personality Development on 13th & 14th August, 2018

The aim of this workshop was to inculcate communication skills in the students so as to make the students expertise in facing interviews and giving them the overview of an industry culture. The workshop conducted will be followed by a Visit to Barclays Office (Goregaon) where in the students will be briefed about the actual atmosphere of a corporate office working. Students will get an E-certificate for the same

Session on Financial Literacy on 02nd August, 2018

The speaker made the faculties aware about the ample investment avenues available in the market and their importance in today’s life. The session also highlighted the importance of Savings in today’s Scenario.

Lecture on Financial Literacy

The speakers for the session were Mr. Milind Ashrit, Financial Advisor, Disha Trust, ICICI Academy for Skills & Ms. Aditi Chipkar, Financial Counsellor, Disha Trust, ICICI Academy for Skills.

It was a highly interactive and informative session for the students as they got to know about Insurance, Investment, Finance and other related terms and their importance in today’s scenario. Overall 180 students attended the session.

Guest lecture on “Crisis in Indian Baking Sector”

A Guest lecture on “Crisis in Indian Baking Sector” was arranged by Commerce Club & Planning Forum on 19th July, 2018 in A. V. Room from 9 am to 10 am on the eve of Bank Nationalization Day.

The speaker for the session was Mr. Devidas Tuljapurkar, Special Assistant, Bank of Maharashtra. The speaker has 39 years of experience in the field of banking

It was a highly interactive and informative session for the students as they got to know about the journey of Banks till present date. Approximately 100 students attended the session.

Career in Import-Export January 2018

A seminar on “Career in Import-Export” was arranged at YWCA Institute, Fort by Commerce Club & Planning Forum on 20th January, 2018. Students of SYBBI, SYBMS & M.Com attended the same. It gave inputs on various terms related to import and export and increased the knowledge of students related to career prospects in export management.

The speaker for the session was Mr. Hiren Parmar, Asst. Branch Manager, International Institute of Import-Export Management, Ahmedabad. It gave inputs on various terms related to import and export and increased the knowledge of students related to career prospects in import-export management.

Investment Awareness and its related terms-Faculty development Session Jan.2018

Faculty development Session was arranged by Commerce Club & Planning Forum on 22nd January, 2018 in A. V. Room from 10 to 11.30 am.

All the teaching and non- teaching staff attended the session. The topic of the session was “Investment Awareness and its related terms”.

The speaker for the session was Mr. Veerdhaval Talpade, Manager, Financial Planning Academy. It was an highly interactive and informative session for the faculty members as it cleared their doubts and misconceptions related to investments.

Commerce Club of our college had organised a guest lecture on “Career in Financial Markets” on 11th January, 2018. The speakers for the same were Mr. Rahul Shanbhag (Development Officer, LIC), Mr Mandar Manjarekar (Financial Consultant) & Mr Dinesh Chavan (Financial Consultant). Students of TYBBI & SYBBI attended the session.

The session comprised of practical aspects of financial market related topics like share, securities, mutual funds etc. They delivered both theory as well as practical information on the said topics. It was an interactive session. Students gave a very well response for the said event.

Guest Lecture on Career in Insurance September 2017

Commerce Club had organized a lecture on “Career in Insurance” on 12th September, 2017 in room no 204 at 9.00 am. The speaker for the same was Mr. Rahul Shanbagh and Mr. Bhavik Bhatia. The lecture gave an insight to the students regarding the insurance filed, the various policies available, the career options available and its growing future prospects in the coming years. The speakers communicated and interacted with the students to make the session enjoyable for the students. A small movie was also shown to the students to make the session more lively. Overall it was an interactive and informative session for the students.

Guest Lecture on GST July 2017

Commerce Club has been set up to give the students some inputs regarding the financial aspects of the commerce world. As per the current scenario going in and around the country, the first program organized by the committee in association with Department of Lifelong Learning & Extension (DLLE) was a lecture on GST (Goods & Service Tax). The esteem speaker for the lecture was CA Mr. Ronak Parekh who enlightened the students with the basic knowledge about; what is GST and how it works. The lecture was conducted in AV room on 5th July, 2017. It was a two hours lecture. It was an eye opening lecture for the students which cleared their misconceptions and doubts related to GST. Mr. Dilip Parekh, CA Mr. Bharat Vasani & CA Ms. Khyati Vasani were also present for the said lecture and they all motivated and encouraged students to increase their knowledge towards the financial aspects of our economy. Overall it was an interactive and informative session for the students as well as for the teaching staff.

How to crack Bank entrance exams July 2016

Commerce club had organized a lecture on “How to crack Bank entrance exams” on 27th July, 2016 by Laqshya Institute of Skills Training for TY students of B.com, BBI, BMS, Bsc (IT). The speaker Mr. Nilesh Chaudhary enlighten the students regarding Knacks of clearing competitive exams. It was an interactive session wherein students got their doubts cleared pertaining to various entrance exams.

Commerce Club 2015-16

Commerce Club of our college conducts various activities throughout the year for the students. The purpose of the activities is to keep them abreast of the current commercial scenario. This is sought to be aligned with the syllabus of the students. In the month of August 2015, Nilam Kondkar of TYBCom class was selected as the student secretary of the committee.

This year Commerce Club jointly with Planning Forum conducted series of two lectures on Financial Planning by Mr. Tripurari Mishra, Certified Financial Planner (CFP). He extensively dealt with setting of financial goals, portfolio management, security analysis, classification of debt & equity in portfolio etc. It was well received by the students.

A session on “Financial Planning & Investment Planning” was conducted for the teaching staff on 29th Feb, 2016 by Mr.Vaibhav Rane, Certified Financial Planner (CFP) and Mr.Aman Chawla. It was highly appreciated by the staff.
