Career Guidance and Placement Cell of Shailendra Degree College widen the horizon of students by conducting various career related sessions. Thought provoking sessions are further encouraged students to acquire necessary self development skills to compete this competitive world. Hence brain storming sessions on motivation and personality development are conducted every year. Placement cell provides a platform for all those students who wish to work , an opportunity to convert their desire into first step of success through campus interview.

First students attended the session taken by Smitha Jayamn in Room No 204. Then students were divided into 4 groups for Group Discussion. Selected students from GD undergoes Personal Interview. Room from 9.00 am to 11.30 am. Students were guided for overseas education. Speakers were Rani Rodrigues, Priyanka Charan, Swati Iyer and Zeenat Pathan. After session interested students were divided into two groups according to the country they selected for education. First group was for US, CANADA and second was for UK, European countries and Other countries. Personal counseling of students was done. Orientation for a course on: Employability Training and Youth Empowerment Career Guidance & Placement Cell of Shailendra Degree College had organized an orientation lecture for a course on Employability Training and Youth Empowerment (2 months) on 24th June, 2019 at 10.30 am in A.V. Room. This course will be conducted by TechnoServe (NGO), through the Campus to Corporate Careers (C2C) Program in our college premises. Under this program third year students from all streams will be trained for 80 hours and later on provides placement support through corporate linkages with large and small firms. Aptitude test of Bombay Stock Exchange was conducted on 7th March 2018 And Seminar on employability skills was conducted by Nidhi Mishra on 30th Nov Bombay Stock Exchange had conducted an aptitude test for “certificate program in Investment Banking Operations” on 7th March 2018 in college premises. Students selected will be offered this course at very very minimum price with 100% placement assurance under their Corporate Social Responsibility. Total 100 students had participated. Campus interview of ICICI prudential was conducted on 14th Dec. 2017. Third year students of BCOM, BA, BMS and BBI had participated and 13 students got selected as financial consultant. Seminar on employability skills was conducted by Nidhi Mishra from Growth Centre on 30th Nov. 90 students from third year were took part. CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL 2016-17 An MoU was signed between Degree College and Arihant Academy Pvt. Ltd. for vocational training of students. Skilled Development Programme, supervised and funded by Maharashtra Skilled Development Corporation. First orientation was conducted on 13th June 2016; total 99 students were enrolled from T.Y.B.M.S and T.Y.B.B.I in three different batches .400 hours training was imparted to these students in Banking. First meeting of cultural committee was conducted in the month of June and Ms Gauri N.Gavas was appointed as student in-charge of the year 2016-17. Campus interview for part time jobs in HDFC and Bajaj Alliance was held on 19th July, 2016. Lecture on Career Counseling and Social Awareness was conducted on 23rd July.Ms Svetlana Taluskar of IES Management College and Research Centre for TY students. Lecture on “Career in MPSC &UPSC” was conducted on 30th November, 2016 by Pranav Nerurkar. One day seminar on “Demystifying the IT industry for TY and S.Y.B.Sc (I.T.) students was conducted on 7th Janaury, 2017, by Mr. Tushar Panhalkar, Managing Director of Infosavy Talent Management Services. TY students were sent for a campus interview conducted by INFOSYS (BPO) in S.N. College Bhayander (East) on 9th January, 2017. Total four students were selected for the same. Campus interview of ICICI Prudential for Financial Service Consultant was held on 16th January, 2017. 23 students got selected for the same. Indian Film & Television Technical Institute affiliated with Indian Media Council, a division of APSEC India Private Limited had conducted a campus Interview on 6th February, 2017, for T.Y.B.A and T.Y.B.M.S students. 12 students were selected for the post of Associate Media Counselors. Career Guidance 2015-16 The committee aims to groom students and provide right opportunities for earning during their studies and afterwards. The first meeting of the committee conducted in the month of June and appointed Mr. Omkar S.Singh of SYBBI as a student in charge for the year 2015-16.The activities of year are as follows: This year college has signed two MOU (Memorandum Of Understanding ) for students overall development. First MOU with Technoserve an NGO for Youth Employability programme of J.P.Morgan .The programme started on 20th July 2015 and concluded on 24th September, 2015.Total 90 hours training was divided into three major parts: 1) Personal Effectiveness, 2)Personal Finance & 3) Professional Effectiveness. Total 37 students of TYBCOM and TYBA have successfully completed the programme. They were felicitated by Principal Dr. V.M.Ingavale on 27th November, 2015. Second MOU was signed with Arihant Foundation, a Vocational Training Service Provider for Skilled Development Programme under the National Council for Vocational Training, supervised and funded by Maharashtra State Skilled Development Corporation. Total 74 students of TYBMS & TYBBI got 120 hours training. An orientation Lecture on Jobs in Insurance Sector was conducted on 8th July 201 5by Mr. Vicky Verma on behalf of Bajaj Alliance and HDFC . This was followed by selection for part time jobs for FY and SY students .In all 29 students were selected out of that 11 had joined the programme . TYBSC (IT) students were sent for campus interview of L&T InfoTech at Vidhyavardhini College of Engineering &Technology, Vasai and Viva College Virar on 7th and 24th August 2015. 17 students were eligible and only one student reached up to the final round. 09 students got selected for full time job in Infosys BPO in a pool campus interview conducted by S.N. College Bhyandar on 8th Jan 2016. Career Fair was organized on 12thJan 2016 in college ground. Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE), LTA School of grooming, Indian Institute of Hotel Management (IIHM), Akabar Tours &Travel and Weschool (Wellinkar Institute) had briefed students about different career options. First round of campus interview for Sales officer and Assistant Acquisition Manager FOR ICICI and Kotak held on 27th Jan 2015. Students have to appear for next round in the month of April. CAREER GUIDANCE AND PLACEMENT CELL 2014-15 Lecture on Career in Management was conducted on 25th of June by Triumphant Institute of Management Education Pvt. Ltd. Lecture on Jobs in Insurance Sector was conducted in the month of July 2014 by Ms. Ritu Menon on behalf of Bajaj Alliance. This was followed by selection for part time jobs for F.Y. and S.Y. students’.In all 08 students were selected for this. Lecture on ‘Technical Tips for day to day life’ was conducted by Jetking Institute on 21st August in two batches for F.Y. and S.Y. students. Second and third year students of Banking and Insurance got an opportunity to attend two days practical training of insurance in corporate atmosphere of Bharti-AXA Life offices at different location of Mumbai in different batches in the month of July and August. Total 50 students completed their training and got their certificates. A Campus interview was conducted by TCS-BPO on 26th August, 2014 for T.Y. students for full time job. Total 90 students appeared and 02 got selected for the job to be joined after graduation. A mock aptitude test and orientation of students for Government Jobs was conducted by Career Launcher on 20th November, 2014 for S.Y.classes. Total 190 students appeared for the aptitude test. A campus interview was held by Varahi Consultancy and Management Services for T.Y. students for Junior Accountant post. Total 30 students were selected for the job. Under Affirmative action group CSR@ TCS activities they have selected our college to train students for 60 to 80 hours for English communication, interview skills and personality development. Training for one batch of 60 students started during the Christmas vacation from 26th December, 2014 to 7th January, 2015. Total 48 students have completed full training. A Campus interview of Infosys BPO was conducted on 15th January, 2015, at Shankar Narayan College Bhayandar (West). 10 students from our college participated and three got selected. A lecture for all T.Y. students on Successful Career was conducted by Ms. Neha Bharne of Bejobbed Incorporation Private Limited on 21st February, 2015. The aim of the programme was to encourage students to get trained before placement. Two days, ten hours “Student Development Programme” was organized on 24th and 25th February, 2015, especially for Third Year students for their overall development. The programme was initiated bythe college in collaboration with Edify Labs and conducted by Mr. Nitesh Gawade, CEO of Edify Labs.
